Distinctly Detroit

Born of Detroit, built in Dearborn I picked up my 2013 Ruby Red F-150 today from Suburban Ford in Sterling Heights.  I have to say I love it. It’s beautiful and unlike my last F-150 this one has a real radio that thumps thanks to Sony. While it has an Ecoboost engine like the 2011 I had before I do feel a bit more power, not a lot though. With the FX appearance package this Ruby Red F-150 looks really sharp!

Mike Skeltis at Suburban Ford really worked to get me into this truck and I highly recommend seeing him if you’re looking for a new vehicle. In fact the whole Suburban Ford crew is great. The best dealership in South Eastern Michigan.

After signing all the paper work I knew I wanted to get some shots of my truck downtown Detroit. I wanted to get a shot of the UAW building on Jefferson with the truck but I had no idea that Transformers 4 would be shooting today and they had a good portion of the city shut down.

I decided to hit my usual spots down there. I saw this sweet old Park Here sign that I had to include in a shot.

After leaving that parking lot I turned down a couple of streets and saw another parking lot with the beautiful Book Tower in the background and being that’s a bucket list building of mine I might as well get that in a shot also.

After that shot I drove around for a while rocking out to some jams with the bass just kicking. I was hoping to get that shot in front of the UAW building but the roads were still closed so I headed out to the Brewsters to see if I could get a good shot. That didn’t happen. How about Brush Park? Nope. Then I went to one of my favorite buildings downtown. Fisher Body 21. However Piquette was on the way! Follow this link to find out the incredible history on the Piquette Building.

Right down the street from Piquette is Fisher Body 21. I absolutely love this place, probably because it was a bit of history with World War II.

While I drove around for hours I didn’t get a ton of shots. I stopped in front of MCS and took a few shots but I don’t like the angle of them so I won’t post them. All in all I love my new truck and I hope you like the shots. Thanks for looking!
